All I Know

All I know is that when I see pain,

My insides ache

All I know is that when I see hate,

I don’t understand why

All I know is that I think too much about a world that has always been chaotic,

Every generation just presents the chaos a little differently

All I know is that man is no less angry,

I see how much humans hurt one another

All I know is that man is no less evil,

I see that in daily headlines around the world

All I know is that things seem so hopeless sometimes,

I refuse to believe that hope is lost, even when I can’t see it

All I know is that it’s there
