Life and Death

The cool air came in like an old friend

The smell of morning coffee is sweeter

Hugs seem more appealing

The weight of the harsh, humid

summer seems to have lifted

I can breath again

Just for a minute

I can see the beauty

I can feel it in my bones

The leaves are turning

Nature is letting go

bracing for the cold,

the grey

Spring will come

the dead will live

all things begin anew

It all keeps going

the cycle, repeats and repeats

life and death are companions

Friend and foe

the game is set,

but I must remember this moment
