Where two or more are gathered,

laughter

laughter that captures the whole face

laughter that brings tears to eyes

laughter reminisced about after it’s gone

Friendships that seem binding

Time that has other ideas

Bonds broken

Spaces widen

Something new forms

Unrecognizable

The familiar is gone

Memories pose as ashes

The years have added up

The binding has unraveled

The laughter is faint

I can barely remember its comfort

What once was will never be again

Time has stopped for no man

I long to laugh again
